Choiceworks Visual Support System with Schedule, Feelings and Waiting Picture Boards for Special Education and Autism

This app is great for working with children on the Autistic Spectrum, or who have other communication disorders. I use it with my son for transitions throughout the day, as well as when there is a change in routine. It is also great for working on waiting skills, which can be a challenge for many kids on the spectrum.

Choiceworks – Visual Support System with Schedule, Feelings and Waiting Picture Boards for Special Education and Autism The Schedule Board focuses on making a task completion easier and more fun, allowing up to five steps. The Waiting Board is a great way to teach waiting skills. The Feelings Board provides a tool for helping children understand and express emotions by allowing the user to read the companion book

Choiceworks – Visual Support System with Schedule, Feelings and Waiting Picture Boards for Special Education and Autism
This is a favorite of mine for creating visual support on the go! Choiceworks gives you three boards to choose from; schedule, waiting and feelings. Name your schedule (getting ready for school) choose a picture to represent the first task or use your own photos, add a time expectation and audio and then a choice of what can be done after completion. You will appreciate the companion books that offer social stories that can be worked on BEFORE creating the visual supports for each of the three areas (Waiting, Feelings and Schedule). Nice app for providing the visual support that so many need!

I think this is one of the best schedulers out there. I use it everyday – to plan sessions, have kids plan their sessions, use it as a treasure hunt check list, and on and on. The possibilities are endless. You can customize schedules with your own pictures and display reinforcers for after completing your schedule. I know of one Mom who uses this app as a checklist for her child in the grocery store. It helps her child know that the shopping will soon end, and there is a promise reward afterwards. There are also waiting boards and feeling boards that you can create. Social Story companion books are also included with all the boards. The updated version of choiceworks now includes individual user profiles, simplified navigation between boards, an improved image editor, and the ability to copy and share boards via iTunes. I recommend this app for all my parents.

Choiceworks%20-%20Visual%20Support%20System%20with%20Schedule,%20Feelings%20and%20Waiting%20Picture%20Boards%20for%20Special%20Education%20and%20Autism is a superb app which allows children to visually see what they need to do and what they will be able to do as a reward after accomplishing said events or tasks. You can even add a visual timer to the tasks! This is great not only for children on the spectrum or struggling with routine, but for any child learning to organize their day.

I used this app with my daughter at a very young age to establish a daily routine with her. This was a wonderful app to use because it gave her the visual she needed and allowed her to be independent with the daily tasks she needed to accomplish.
