Intended for ages 2 to 10, this Milo app is centered on teaching verbs to help build vocabulary and grammar. The app is quite simple and easy to use. Choose the verbs you wish to focus on, or select random presentation. Milo is on a stage, and he acts out the verb. If the verb is run, he acts out running, etc. Single word run is pronounced. If you want to hear it used in a phrase/sentence, select that button. Suggestions for additional activities for parents and therapists are provided. This is great as a language building exercise, and is best used with adult supervision for goal enhancement. Does mot track your data. Would be nice if it had the ability to record a student's use of each verb.

Speech with Milo: Verbs targets development of vocabulary through learning new verbs. For the younger students this is great, they can practice saying the verbs and watching Milo the mouse act out the verb! I do wish that beyond the verb, that you could pick in phrases or sentences (they do have a sentence option, but it's just a read aloud prompt). I would like it if it's more of a phrase builder where the students can touch the words in the phrase, that way they learn where the verb is. However, for the young students they love seeing the mouse move and the "cheese" breaks are perfectly timed. Recommend it for the young ones!

“Speech with Milo: Verbs” is centered on an adorable and energetic mouse named Milo. Milo performs over 100 actions, such as “bounce,” “count,” and “play”. This provides an engaging way to build up an action word vocabulary in the child. Flash cards are typically used for this type of exercise, but the animation that comes with Milo will keep any child focused and attentive. And most important- it is fun!
The app comes with two sets of instructions- one for Speech Therapists and one for Parents. This app can be used for infants and toddlers, as well as children with language delays.

Features:

•Verb is spoken as the action is completed to reinforce action with auditory input. There is an option to turn this feature off.
•Written verb is displayed at the bottom of the screen to reinforce reading skills.
•Phrase button allows child to listen to a sentence using the verb.
•Milo takes a break every once in a while with some cheese and a dance. The child gets to feed Milo some cheese and watch him dance as a reward for his/her hard work.
•You may customize the actions that Milo performs. On List of Actions from the Home Page, you can do the following: random order, alphabetical order, or select your own custom set of verbs to work on by touching the word(s) in list of actions to activate/deactivate blue button.
•Background music can be turned off if it is too distracting for the child.
NOTE: THE APP IS ANIMATION INTENSIVE, WHICH MEANS IT MAY TAKE AS MUCH AS TWO MINUTES TO DOWNLOAD. IT IS WELL WORTH THE WAIT!
